Las Vegas Area School Information Resource
Official school lookup tools, public data sources, school directories, college resources, and education links for families researching schools in Southern Nevada.
School research can involve a lot of different sources: public school zoning tools, district directories, private school websites, charter school enrollment pages, magnet program applications, transportation information, and public school data sites. This page brings those resources together in one place so families can do their own research directly.
This page is informational only. School details can change, and families should verify information directly with the appropriate district, school, program, or official source.
Start Here: Official School Lookup Tools
For public school assignment, start with the exact property address. Nearby homes may not always share the same assigned school path, and attendance boundaries can change. Before relying on a listing, a map, a third-party website, or a general area name, verify directly through official resources.

Clark County School District
Clark County School District (CCSD) provides public education for most of Southern Nevada — Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Mesquite, Laughlin, Indian Springs, and rural areas of Clark County. CCSD identifies itself as one of the largest school districts in the United States.
Public school assignment within CCSD is based on the exact property address and current attendance boundaries, which can change as new schools open or zoning is updated. Use the official tools above to verify assignment, directory information, transportation eligibility, magnet options, open enrollment, and official school data for any specific address.
Boulder City
Boulder City is located in Clark County and is served by the Clark County School District. Verify school assignment, school pages, attendance boundaries, transportation, and school data through the same CCSD tools and Nevada Report Card.
Pahrump / Nye County
Pahrump is located in Nye County, outside the Las Vegas Valley, and is served by the Nye County School District rather than CCSD. Nye County School District does not offer an online address-lookup tool — school zoning for a specific Pahrump address is verified by contacting the district directly (the district directs Pahrump elementary zoning questions to its Transportation office). Registration is handled through the district's online enrollment system.

Enrolling After a Move
The part of school research nobody explains is the mechanics — what it actually takes to enroll after arriving. The facts below come from official CCSD and Nevada Department of Education sources. Requirements can be updated, so verify the current details at enrollment time.
Age Requirements
- ›A child must be 5 years old on or before August 1 to enroll in kindergarten in Nevada (NRS 392.040, updated by Assembly Bill 65 in 2023). Many states use later cutoff dates, so a child eligible for kindergarten elsewhere may not be eligible in Nevada that year — worth checking early when planning a move.
- ›A child must be 6 by August 1 and have completed kindergarten to enroll in first grade. Out-of-state kindergarten completion can be demonstrated with proof from the prior state under that state's requirements.
- ›Second grade: a student must be 7 by August 1 and have completed kindergarten and first grade.
- ›Out-of-state kindergarten completion cannot be demonstrated via an online or homeschool program — it must be from a public, charter, or private school.
- ›Under Nevada law, children must be enrolled in school beginning at age 6.
- ›Military families: a child transferring on military orders may enroll in kindergarten at any point in the school year, regardless of Nevada's cutoff, if the child met the kindergarten age requirements of the prior state.
Documents and Proof of Residence
Commonly required for CCSD enrollment: two forms of proof of residence, the child's official identification records (such as an original certified birth certificate or passport), immunization records, and prior school records if available.
One detail that matters for families enrolling while buying a home: CCSD accepts a lease or sales contract as proof of address. If the lease or sales contract is dated for a future move-in, the school can register the child on the condition that an additional accepted proof of address is provided within 30 days. A driver's license, telephone bill, or cable bill are not accepted as proof of address. See current CCSD enrollment requirements →
Families without a lease, mortgage, or utility bill in a parent/guardian's name can use CCSD's Shared Housing option during registration. Families in temporary or homeless situations can contact the Title I Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE) at 702-855-6682.
Immunization
Immunization requirements for Nevada schools are listed on the CCSD enrollment page and through the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD). Families moving from other states should review Nevada-specific requirements, including:
- ›Hepatitis A vaccination is required in Nevada. Immunization records that were current in states that do not require hepatitis A may not be current in Nevada.
- ›The meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) is required for students entering grades 8–12 who are new to Nevada schools, including private and charter schools, and for students entering 7th and 12th grade.
- ›Records for children vaccinated in Nevada are available through the Nevada WebIZ portal; certified birth certificates for children born in Clark County are available through the Southern Nevada Health District.
School Calendars
Not all CCSD schools follow the same calendar. Some elementary schools operate year-round while others follow a nine-month calendar. Verify the calendar of the assigned school for any address being considered.

Private School Links and Public Resources
Private schools are not assigned by home address the way zoned public schools are. Each school sets its own admissions process, tuition and fees, grade availability, application deadlines, and transportation policies. Verify details directly with each school.

Verify enrollment windows, lottery rules, campus locations, grades, and transportation directly with each school and the appropriate charter authority.

Application Timing Matters
CCSD magnet and career & technical programs require an application, and qualified applications are entered into a computerized random lottery after the deadline (managed through the SchoolMint system). Application windows are set each year — families arriving mid-cycle should check the current window as early as possible, because missing a window may limit options until a later application cycle. Verify current dates through CCSD Magnet Schools.
Visit CCSD Magnet SchoolsSome magnet and career & technical options are standalone campuses; others are programs inside a comprehensive high school. The distinction affects what the rest of the school day looks like, and it is listed for each entry below.

It has a separate application process through CSN High School, serves grades 11–12, operates on CSN campuses, and does not use the CCSD Magnet SchoolMint lottery process. Workforce and Career Training
Southern Nevada also has numerous private trade, technical, and career schools, along with workforce and certificate programs through the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). Rather than listing individual schools, families can verify licensing through the Nevada Commission on Postsecondary Education and accreditation through the U.S. Department of Education Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs (DAPIP).

Questions to Verify Directly With Schools
Use this checklist when contacting a school, district, or program directly.
Using School Research During a Home Search
When comparing specific properties, families may want to look up public school zoning, transportation eligibility, commute times, and school-specific enrollment requirements for each address. Because school assignment and program eligibility can depend on exact details, verify school information directly with the appropriate district, school, program, or official source.
